Newark Museum of Art’s Ballantine House - Newark, NJ

What an old house says to a new city.

As a Principal with The Experience Alchemists, I worked with the Newark Museum of Art for 18 months to develop an Interpretive Plan and engagement strategy for the newly re-installed Ballantine House, a 19th century mansion and the museum’s larger collection object. The Newark of today is very different than the city of 1880. The plan needed to take new audiences, civic pride, and the limitations of a carefully restored and fragile environment into account.

The resulting engagements, implemented by my team of filmmakers, graphic designers, artists, and tech experts, were playful, multi-sensory, and story rich.
